Spaghetti/Straw Tower Challenge!
Our kids made towers out of spaghetti & straws, then measured the heights & widths using non-standard units. It was a tough project, but they were resilient and persevered! Take a look!!!
3D Solids with Marshmallows & Toothpicks!
For our STEAM project this week, students made 3D solids using marshmallows and toothpicks. After they drew and constructed the four different solids, students counted the number of faces, edges and vertices on each. They also wrote a short paragraph reflecting on their STEAM project. Take a look!
Tinfoil Sculpture #STEAM Project!
Students followed video and written directions to make a sculpture of a person doing some type of activity out of tinfoil today. After they were done, students wrote a paragraph about it focusing on the 5 Finger Writing model. Take a look!
Our 2D Shape Sculptures – A #STEAM Project!
Today students did a STEAM project incorporating math and engineering into an art project! This was our first time doing a project like this remotely. Students did a GREAT job following directions from our class website and being super creative. A special shout out to all the parents who sent me videos!!!
Keep-It-Cool Devices!
As a culminating project for our Hot and Cold Temperatures science unit, students designed, constructed, tested and reflected on their own “Keep-It-Cool” devices. The challenge was for students to keep an ice cube frozen for 2 hours. Take a look!
