3 Types of Rocks

3 Types of Rocks

As part of our Rocks and Minerals unit in Science, students have been learning about and exploring examples of the three different types of rocks.  After our mini-lessons, each student showed what they know by completing a chart illustrating 3-4 examples of igneous, sedimentary and metamorphic rocks.

The 3Js each had a challenge to create an instrument in which the can change the loudness and pitch.  After coming up with possible ideas and thinking about how the volume and frequency could be changed, students made their instruments.  Check out how some of them did!
