Cody and the Fountain of Happiness – Accessing Our Schema

The 2Js know that thinking about our schema while reading is a very important comprehension strategy.
What is Schema?
“Schema is all of the stuff that’s already inside your head, like places you’ve been, things you’ve done – all of the experiences you’ve had that make up who you are and what you know and believe to be true. When you use your Schema, it helps you use what you know to better understand and interact with the text.”

~Debbie Miller~

Many of us had schema for when we read “Once, going home was all he wanted. But now Spencer’s face got very complicated.  Sadness and gladness were mixed together.”  We thought about a time when we each had mixed emotions.  We shared our schema in the following video.

    • Thank you SO much for taking the time to watch our video! There were so many parts in your book that we could each relate to. We think that’s what made it such a great book!!!
Can’t wait to talk to you on Monday!!!
      XO,
