Fall Leaves in Oil Pastel and Ink

The 2Js had a creative, fun art project today!  We discussed the colours of the leaves at this time of the year, and how pretty it looks outside.  Then they either drew or traced some leaves using pencil, traced and coloured over their leaves using oil pastels, and completed the project by painting over the entire area of their work with india ink.  Of course the oil pastels resisted the ink, and their beautiful leaves peeked through!  Below is a slide show of several examples of the 2Js works of art today!

In Central Alberta, we have a lot of Aspen trees and they turn a pretty yellow colour in the fall.  What kinds of trees do you have where you live, and what colours do they turn in the fall?  Please leave us a comment!
