Morning Math Routine

In the morning after agendas and Read to Self, the 2Js have a morning meeting that includes calendar, weather and math components.  I am LOVING the creativity that the students are coming up with in their math; they are really having fun with it!

The helper rolls two 10-sided dice to generate a “Number of the Day”, for which the students have to create an addition and subtraction expression.  Today our Number of the Day was 92.  Below is a slideshow of the students with their expressions, and you can see how they are keeping Ms.J on her toes!  Also included are photos of different ways some students made 92 cents in the piggy bank.

  1. Hi Gr. 2J and Mrs. J. – Wow, you sure came up with a lot of number expressions for 92. I remember visiting your classroom a few times when you were doing this activity. It looks like a lot of fun and you are all really good at it!

I hope everyone is wearing green today, as I comment on your blog you will be glad to know that I am wearing a green shirt.

I look forward to seeing you all soon,

    Have a great weekend,

    Mr. W.

  2. Hi 2J, Your morning routine is really great. I can see that you are really growing in your math skills.
    Love Mrs. Nickol
