After we completed our “Floating Sinkers” experiment in science today, we began our next experiment. Students are learning how they can change their (plastiscine) boats so that they will each carry a heavier load. To begin with, students sketched a design of their first boat, then made a prediction of how many marbles it would hold. Then they had Ms.J add a load of marbles to their boats to see how many it would carry before they sunk. Below is a picture of Vivien with her boat that held 16 marbles!
Tomorrow students will then change their boats to try to make it carry more mables.
Gr.2Js, please leave a comment explaining how you plan to change your boat to make it carry a bigger load!
